The Number of Earthquake Victims in Iran Exceeds 1160

The number of victims affected by the 5.8 magnitude earthquake in northwest Iran has reached 1167, according to ISNA, citing the region's governor, Mohammad Sadik Motehadiyan.

According to the official, 20-50 percent of buildings have been damaged in 70 localities within the province. Earlier reports indicated that the earthquake, which struck the city of Khoy, had injured 973 individuals and resulted in three fatalities.

It is worth noting that on January 28, an earthquake was recorded 34 kilometers southeast of Khoy at a depth of 10 kilometers, with a magnitude of 5.9. The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral area reached 8 degrees.
