Russian Peacekeepers Transfer Russian Citizens from Artsakh to Armenia

Russian Peacekeepers Transfer Russian Citizens from Artsakh to Armenia

On January 29, Russian peacekeepers transferred 44 citizens of the Russian Federation from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia. The transfer was carried out within the framework of agreements reached with the Azerbaijani side.

Of the 44 individuals, 7 are children.

It is worth noting that on the morning of December 12, a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothing blocked the route connecting Artsakh to Armenia at the Shushi-Karin Tak junction under the pretext of environmental reasons. Since December 13, the Azerbaijani side has intermittently cut off gas supplies to Artsakh. Starting January 9, electricity supplies from Armenia to Artsakh have also been disconnected.

The Azerbaijani side does not allow specialists to approach the affected areas to understand the causes and, if necessary, to undertake emergency repair works. Power supply in Artsakh is being provided through scheduled outages. The Lachin corridor remains closed.
