Russia's Foreign Ministry on Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations
Russia is interested in the stability and prosperity of this region; this is the focus of our diplomacy, stated the Russian Foreign Ministry in response to inquiries sent during a press conference dedicated to the results of Russian diplomatic activities in 2022.
“We are working intensively to overcome the accumulated conflict potential in the region. In this regard, one of the priority issues is the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. The basis for this is the statements made by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on November 9, 2020, January 11, November 26, 2021, and October 31, 2022. We are convinced that the success of the process entirely depends on the strict adherence to these trilateral agreements,” the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.
It was highlighted that Moscow is committed, more broadly, to existing and emerging multilateral negotiation formats.
