Czech President Says When the Russia-Ukraine War Might End
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he spoke with Czech President Petr Pavel and invited him to visit Kyiv. “I personally congratulated Petr on his victory in the Czech presidential elections. I thanked him and the Czech people for their unwavering support. I invited him to visit Ukraine,” said the Ukrainian president.
The Czech president gave an interview to Czech television, in which he called for the maintenance of sanctions against Moscow. “If I express myself objectively, [the European Union sanctions] disrupt Russia's capabilities to invest more in the war in Ukraine,” Pavel said.
“It is necessary to continue to exert pressure on Russia on all fronts to end the conflict in favor of Ukraine, a country that has been attacked,” stated the newly elected president. According to the Czech president, since Russia is running out of modern weapons and well-trained military personnel, the war could end in 2024.
