Casualties from Earthquake in Iran Rise
The number of casualties from the recent earthquake in Iran has reached 816, with three confirmed dead. This was reported by the IRNA news agency.
Earlier, it was reported that there were 447 injured individuals. Preliminary assessments indicate that the earthquake has caused damage to two cities and more than 70 villages, with 20-50% of buildings destroyed.
It is worth noting that on January 28, at 22:14 local time (18:14 GMT), a seismic event was recorded by the Armenian National Institute of Emergency Situations' Seismic Protection Territorial Service. The earthquake struck 34 kilometers southeast of the city of Khoy, at geographical coordinates of 38.33° N latitude and 45.24° E longitude, with a depth of 10 kilometers and a magnitude of 5.9.
