Armenian Embassy in Iran Offers Condolences to Families of Earthquake Victims in Khoy

The Armenian Embassy in Iran has expressed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the earthquake that struck the city of Khoy. This information was reported by the embassy's press service.

“The Armenian Embassy in Tehran expresses its condolences to the families of the victims of the earthquake in Khoy and wishes a swift recovery to the injured,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that on January 28, an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred 34 kilometers southeast of Khoy, Iran, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The intensity of the underground shock in the epicentral region reached 8 on the scale. The earthquake resulted in the death of 3 individuals and injured 447 others.

The tremor was also felt in the Armenian provinces of Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat, Armavir, Kotayk, and in the capital city of Yerevan.
