Dog Hit and Left Behind: How a Dog's Life Was Saved
A touching little story that moved me deeply today. This is what Levon Nikoghosyan shared on his Facebook page.
“In the morning, I was heading towards the 16th kilometer on the North-South highway when I saw this whimpering dog, who had just been hit and left by the side of the road. I stopped, while other cars zoomed past me at alarming speeds. Fortunately, 2-3 other drivers also stopped, one of whom was Mikayel Papyan.
Then, the police officers (for vehicle 1123) arrived and protected the poor dog with their vehicle, preventing any speeding cars from causing further harm. To cut a long story short, it took us 2 hours to reach a positive outcome. I would like to express my gratitude to the Armenian police, especially to the team in vehicle 1123, to Mikayel Papyan, who stayed by my side until the end, to Radio Avrora, and my good friend Rouzanna Shahinyan, who raised awareness on air and will coordinate future actions. Thanks to the DINGO Team, represented by Vahag, who took the dog and is now caring for it, and to the Stray Animal Decontamination Center, which responded and came over; however, we preferred to trust DINGO with the dog. People, it doesn't matter what era we live in – being human is never a shame...”
