Peskov Comments on Putin Awarding Wagner Member Hayk Gasparyan
Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov has commented on the awarding of Hayk Gasparyan, a member of the Wagner private military company, who is currently serving but was previously convicted for armed robbery, according to gazeta.ru.
"He is participating in a special military operation and has shown heroism during the special military operation, which is marked by a state award," Peskov clarified.
It is noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded state honors in December 2022 to soldiers who displayed heroism and courage during the special operation, including Gasparyan.
