The Fund for Bonuses in the National Assembly Has Been Reduced: Who Will No Longer Receive Monetary Incentives
The staff of the National Assembly has begun a petition demanding the payment of their bonuses. The matter is that since the change of power, in addition to civil servants, the leadership of the parliament had allocated bonuses to the technical and service staff of the NA for nearly four years. Now, this support has been cut, as reported by Hraparak.am.
Those deprived of bonuses are upset that they have been singled out from everyone else and that a dividing line has been drawn. "When they first entered the parliament, they acted like good guys and pretended to be caring so that we would trust them. But now, when they think they have made us theirs, they’re showing us a three-finger gesture," said one of the staff members who did not receive a bonus.
Auroranews contacted the press secretary of the President of the NA, Tovinara Khachatryan, to understand what is happening in the NA staff. "Some assistants of parliament members from the ruling Civil Contract party have approached the NA president to receive bonuses, but by law, these bonuses are only entitled to civil servants. They receive a semi-annual bonus twice a year, and that is the specific bonus that does not go to the assistants," Khachatryan stated in our conversation.
Khachatryan also pointed out that parliamentary assistants previously received bonuses because salaries were not high, and the NA had savings. The NA spokesperson added that the fund for bonuses has been reduced.
