UK Parliament Discusses Closure of Lachin Corridor
British MP Jessica Morden addressed a debate in the Parliament regarding the closure of the Lachin Corridor and the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Today in Parliament, I participated in a debate on the closure of the Lachin Corridor and the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. It is important that the persecution and terrorism faced by the Christian Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh receive unified international condemnation. But it is also important that the government of the United Kingdom utilizes its unique levers of influence in this case, as a close diplomatic and trade partner of Azerbaijan. Our message to Baku must be clear: this disgraceful and unjust blockade, and the broader model of repression which many consider an attempt to expel Armenian Christians from their historic homeland, must end now,” stated the member of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom.
