Possibility to Agree on the Text of the EEU Gas Common Market Agreement: Ovechuk

There is a possibility to agree on the text of the agreement regarding the EEU gas common market. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Ovechuk.

“We have discussed this topic, and we continued to discuss it today. We have the opportunity to reach an agreement on the text of the contract,” he said in a conversation with reporters, adding that experts continued their work today.

However, Ovechuk did not specify possible deadlines for the completion of this work. According to him, Moscow is interested in developing the integration processes of the union, transportation, and logistics corridors during its presidency in the EEU. He noted that the parties are also discussing issues related to the creation and development of financial infrastructures and unified energy markets.

“We have a large program planned for this year,” Ovechuk said.

It should be noted that the EEU consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.
