Director of Malatia Market Discusses Recorded Violations and Potential Closure
Samvel Avetisyan, the director of the Malatia market, has clarified whether the market's operations will be suspended. According to his statements, an inspection was conducted in October, revealing 17 violations that must be rectified.
“At present, only one item remains unaddressed. After all this, they say we have not made progress, and I do not understand the purpose of this accusation. We do not have explosive or flammable materials that could cause significant damage in the event of a fire,” Avetisyan noted.
He added that the issue with the smoke removal system has yet to be resolved. Specialists have been invited, and if the market does not close, they will complete the necessary work within a few months.
As previously reported, the State Inspection Body of Construction, Technical, and Fire Safety of Armenia has announced that the operations of the Malatia market will soon be suspended because the operator has not eliminated the violations identified by the inspection body.
