Cat Serial Killer Sentenced in Russia

The Cheremushkinsky Court in Moscow has sentenced cat serial killer Oleg Krivyakov to 2.5 years in prison, as reported by Mash.

Krivyakov was found guilty under the articles of "Cruelty to Animals" and "Hooliganism." This is one of the few genuine regulations in place for the protection of animal life, and such a lengthy prison term is a rarity in cases like this.

Krivyakov was arrested in the summer of 2022. The man targeted cats, cruising around Cheremushki in his BMW X5 and shooting at passing animals with an air gun. Approximately 10 cats died due to his actions. Some were saved by bystanders, but most perished on the spot.

Krivyakov justified his behavior by claiming that stray animals are breeding grounds for viruses and bacteria. He stated that he only killed potentially dangerous cats, while he has two cats and a dog at home.
