No materials regarding the case have been provided to us. This is yet another unlawful persecution, says Charchyan's defense

The defense of MP Armen Charchyan, Eric Aleksanyan, made a post on Facebook regarding the request presented by the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan for the revocation of Charchyan's mandate and the initiation of criminal prosecution against him.

“According to the widely circulated statement, based on the factual data obtained during the criminal proceedings, Armen Charchyan participated as an expert in the repeated commission of forensic medical examination intended for charges of serious and particularly serious crimes against A. S., and on February 8, 2017, he signed the obviously falsified conclusion of the repeated forensic medical commission,” the post states.

“We inform the public that we have not been provided with any materials regarding this case, nor the factual data that served as the basis for the request of the Prosecutor General. We trust that all of this is yet another unlawful prosecution being carried out against Armen Charchyan,” it concludes.
