Nazarbayev Discharged from Hospital After Heart Surgery

The former President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has been discharged from the National Scientific Center of Cardiac Surgery in Astana following heart surgery, as reported by РИА Новости.

It was previously reported that Nazarbayev had been hospitalized. He led Kazakhstan for nearly 30 years before resigning from the presidency in March 2019. The new president is Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Recently, the Constitutional Court of Kazakhstan stripped Nursultan Nazarbayev of the title of Elbasy. The court decided to invalidate the law on the “First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy,” which had declared Nazarbayev the leader of the nation and granted him lifelong privileges and guarantees.
