Andranik Kocharyan Visits the 2nd Army Corps

On January 22, the Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia, Andranik Kocharyan, along with committee member Gurgen Melkonyan, visited the 2nd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Armenia, as reported by the committee.

During their meeting with the Corps Commander G. Poghosyan, senior officers, and enlisted personnel, they familiarized themselves with the situation at the border and the existing issues, discussing appropriate measures to address these problems.

Subsequently, they visited the barracks of the engineer-sapper platoon of the Ministry of Defense's military unit, where a tragic incident had occurred. They discussed the circumstances and details related to the incident. A. Kocharyan and G. Melkonyan outlined the key steps that would prevent similar catastrophic outcomes.

Discussions were held with the personnel of the Territorial Police regarding issues related to resolving problems in military environments and improving the quality of command execution. The importance of cooperation between the police staff and other regional law enforcement agencies was also emphasized.

The committee chairman proposed to the local command that, through joint efforts, they restore all details related to the daily service of the platoon prior to the fire.
