Official Baku Continues to Accuse Yerevan

Official Baku continues to issue accusations against Yerevan. The spokesperson for the country's foreign affairs service, Aykhan Hacizadeh, has cast doubt on the Armenian side’s statements regarding establishing peace and security in the region. He also deemed the accusations directed by Armenia's Foreign Minister against the Azerbaijani side as baseless and unacceptable.

According to the Foreign Ministry representative, the use of the term “Nagorno-Karabakh authorities” by Ararat Mirzoyan in his interview indicates that Yerevan is not renouncing “territorial claims against Azerbaijan.” As before, Armenia is demonstrating a constructive and conscientious approach to the negotiation process, as its ultimate goal is to establish security and peace in the region, Mirzoyan emphasized during the interview.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry believes that Mirzoyan has also distorted the situation surrounding the Lachin corridor and the process of resolving relations. Meanwhile, the head of Armenia's foreign policy agency stated that regardless of the illegal actions by Azerbaijan in the Lachin corridor and the postponement of the Moscow meeting, the Armenian side had provided the Azerbaijani side with new proposals and justifications regarding the peace treaty over a month ago, but there has been no response yet. “Thus, the ball is now in Azerbaijan's court,” the minister noted.

The Lachin corridor has now remained closed for 42 days. The Azerbaijani side has once again fully blocked the only gas pipeline entering Artsakh from Armenia.
