Covering His Face with a Towel, He Headed to the Window: What the Soldier Rescued from the Barrack Fire Told
"Zhoghovurd" newspaper has learned details about the incident recounted by one of the soldiers rescued from the fire at the barracks in the village of Azat, Gegharkunik Province, which occurred on January 19.
According to exclusive information obtained by the newspaper, one of the rescued soldiers, whose name is not disclosed at this stage to avoid compromising the investigation, told law enforcement that he heard voices and shouts such as, "There’s a fire, get up, there’s a fire!"
He woke up from those shouts, opened the door to his room, and saw that the entire corridor was filled with smoke. He noticed two people but couldn’t recall who they were. Covering his face with a towel, he made his way to the window and saw the boys outside breaking the window, which ultimately allowed them to pull him out through the bars.
It is reminded that the fire at the barracks in the village of Azat, Gegharkunik Province, resulted in 15 fatalities and 7 injuries.
