VIDEO: State of Emergency Declared in 7 Municipalities of Serbia
Due to flooding in southwestern and southern Serbia, a state of emergency has been declared in seven municipalities. This was reported by RIA Novosti. The region of the Western Balkans is experiencing heavy rainfall, which has turned into snowfall.
The Serbian army and police have actively joined the efforts to combat the aftermath of the river flooding, with emergency services evacuating 84 people in the southwestern part of the country.
"On Friday, an emergency situation occurred in the municipalities of Prijepolje, Sjenica, Novi Pazar, Brus, Tutin, Kuršumlija, and Prokuplje. The Ibar River has flooded in the area of Raška," reported the national broadcaster.
