Accident Involving Passenger 'Gazel' and 'Mercedes Sprinter' on Ejmiatsin-Yerevan Route Results in Casualties

On January 20, at 16:56, the regional crisis management center of Armavir received a report about a traffic accident on the Ejmiatsin-Zvartnots highway, with a gas leak detected and the need for rescue services. This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A firefighting crew from the Ministry's regional rescue administration was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a collision occurred between a 'Mercedes Sprinter' and a 'Gazel' vehicle at the first kilometer of the Ejmiatsin-Zvartnots roadway.

According to preliminary data, there is one fatality and one injured. Some news sources report that the number of injured may be as high as seven.

It should be noted that one of the vehicles involved in the accident serves the Ejmiatsin-Yerevan route. Rescuers have cordoned off the area.
