US Pressured India on Covid-19 Vaccine Supplies, Officials Say

Pfizer allegedly compelled the country to release the company from liability for side effects, threatening to halt vaccine supplies otherwise. This was stated by India's Minister of Technology, Rajiv Chandrasekhar, to Moneycontrol. He revealed that Pfizer is demanding the Indian government guarantee damages if the drug is supplied.

In 2021, India refused to register the manufacturer's vaccine because the US did not agree to test it there.
