Artsakh to Shift to Special Work Regime from January 19

The state institutions of the Republic of Artsakh will shift to a special work regime starting January 19. Following the disruption of gas and energy supplies from Armenia to Artsakh by Azerbaijan, the republic is facing an energy crisis. This information has been reported by the Artsakh information headquarters.

In light of the situation, to ensure the uninterrupted operation of vital facilities and to meet the minimum energy needs of the population for as long as possible, only those employees whose presence at their workplace is necessary will visit state institutions from January 19. In certain cases, some density measures will also be implemented to use electricity as rationally as possible. Other employees will perform their work duties remotely.

As of January 9, the energy supply from Armenia to Artsakh has been disconnected from the area under Azerbaijani control. The Azerbaijani side is preventing specialists from approaching to understand the reasons in order to potentially carry out emergency recovery work. On January 17, Azerbaijan also cut off gas supply from Armenia to Artsakh. In winter conditions, the 120,000 residents of Artsakh are effectively deprived of energy and gas supply.

Currently, energy supply within the republic is being carried out exclusively on the basis of severely limited internal resources.
