The Newly Appointed Minister Seeks Funds from the Budget

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that a fire that broke out in the barracks of a military unit in the Gegharkunik region led to the exclusion of certain issues from the agenda of the government meeting.

For instance, one of the questions was submitted in the name of Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan, regarding the redistribution of the state budget for the Republic of Armenia in 2023. This proposal seeks additional funds from the budget for the maintenance of 50 positions, which has become necessary due to insufficient allocations as outlined in the justification.

It is noted that there are no budget allocations for the program related to the "Development, management, centralized events, monitoring and control of the internal affairs ministry's policy," since the law went into effect on December 30, 2022. It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is expected to have 50 positions, and according to calculations, a monthly requirement of 2 million 124 thousand AMD, totaling 25 million 488 thousand AMD annually. However, the presented draft proposes securing funds for 6 months, amounting to 12 million 744 thousand AMD.
