Second Nationwide Protest in France Against Pension Reforms

Eight leading trade unions have announced that another nationwide protest will take place on January 31. This was reported by Говорит Москва.

According to the French Ministry of Interior, today 1.12 million people participated in protests against raising the retirement age, with 80,000 of them taking to the streets of Paris.

The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) stated that the number of participants in the capital's rally was 400,000, while a total of 2 million French citizens protested across the country.

Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne introduced the pension reform bill on January 10, which the government plans to adopt this year. According to her, authorities will begin raising the retirement age by three months each year starting from September 1, 2023. By 2030, the retirement age is expected to reach 64 years.
