It is noted that Nazarbayev has been hospitalized and may require surgery. "Nazarbayev's press secretary Aidos Ukibay is not responding to phone calls," the media reported.
Nursultan Nazarbayev led Kazakhstan for nearly 30 years. He resigned from his position in March 2019. The new president is Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan's Constitutional Court had stripped Nursultan Nazarbayev of his title as Elbasy.
