This is the second time Azerbaijan has hindered progress on this issue, Mirzoyan says about the opening of railway communications
Recently, another attempt to reach a final agreement on the opening of railway communications has failed, as the Azerbaijani side has introduced new conditions that contradict the parties' initial understanding regarding the regulations. This was announced by Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council initiated by Armenia.
"This is already the second time that Azerbaijan's actions have disrupted progress on this issue. The initial agreement to resolve railway connection issues was reached as far back as December 2021. This fact is even mentioned in the statement made by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, on December 14, 2021," Mirzoyan said.
As we reported, at the special session of the OSCE Permanent Council, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also stated that the blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh is not an isolated incident and should be viewed as part of a large-scale and systematic policy by Azerbaijan aimed at the ethnic cleansing of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh by creating unbearable conditions for life.
"The humanitarian crisis is worsening day by day and requires immediate and targeted intervention from the international community. We cannot stand aside and watch as people slowly starve to death due to political games and perhaps geopolitical calculations. The time to act is now," said the Armenian Foreign Minister.
