Bride Steals Large Sum of Money and 11 Gold Items from Home, Gives Them to Boyfriend for Betting

On December 8, a report was received at the Ararat Police Department about a large sum of money and gold jewelry being stolen from an apartment on Mashtots Street in the city of Ararat. An operational group from the department was dispatched to the scene and undertook the necessary measures, according to the police's press service.

The law enforcement authorities, based on the owners' account, suspected that the burglary occurred between 9:00 AM and 3:20 PM when no one was home, and that the entrance door had been opened with a specialized tool. From the bedroom closet, 1,290,000 drams and 11 gold jewelry items were taken. There were no traces or suspicious circumstances, which in itself raised suspicion.

A criminal case was initiated in the Ararat regional department. Various theories were proposed, including one that sought to explain why there were no other traces or suspicious circumstances at the site of the burglary. The investigative efforts of the Ararat criminal investigators yielded no results for a long time, and the theory that no theft had taken place was becoming increasingly plausible.

On January 14, it was finally revealed that both the money and the gold items had been taken by the 32-year-old bride, who had given them to her 28-year-old boyfriend, who placed a bet and lost.

The bride was summoned to the police department and confessed. She has been presented to the regional investigatory department.
