Current Situation at the Russian 102nd Military Base

Members of the radical organization "National Democratic Pole" have held a protest near the second entrance of the Russian 102nd military base located in Gyumri. Before that, they gathered near the "Mother Armenia" memorial and then proceeded to the military base in a car rally.

The initiators have stated that the purpose of the gathering titled "Blockade for Unblockade" is to demand that the Russian peacekeepers, who are responsible for the uninterrupted operation of the Berdzor corridor, fulfill their obligations by blockading the temporarily stationed Russian 102nd military base in Gyumri.

After several speeches, the participants of the protest announced that they would hold an awareness march in the streets of Gyumri and left the vicinity of the military base.

It is noteworthy that a similar protest was held by the "National Democratic Pole" on January 8, attempting to close the segment leading to the military base in Gyumri; however, police detained the demonstrators on the grounds of violating the laws regarding gatherings and failing to comply with legal requests from police officers.
