Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Orders Military to Maintain Combat Readiness

A working consultation led by Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov was held at the Defense Ministry, attended by commanders of the troops, heads of main departments and services. Commanders of units and formations also participated in the consultation via video conference.

According to the Interfax-Azerbaijan news agency, the meeting discussed the situation created at the Armenian-Azerbaijani conditional border and in the area of temporary deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Azerbaijan.

Reforms in the education sector aimed at preparing the necessary personnel for the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were also on the agenda. Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Hasanov ordered the military to “maintain combat readiness and prevent any provocation.”
