93-Year-Old Woman Loses Consciousness During Incident in Firdus
Since December 2022, tensions have been running high in the Firdus neighborhood. Located in the center of Yerevan, this area has long been included in a construction project. Measurements have begun to forcibly provide compensation to residents and evict them from their homes. This is reported by Hraparak.am.
The Safaryan family, located at 8a Republic Street, has appealed to the court demanding market-rate compensation. Today, staff from the State Enforcement Service broke down the door of a 93-year-old woman's home to conduct measurements.
The Safaryan family insists they will remain in their own built house and will not leave for a compensation of $750 per square meter. A month after the incident, State Enforcement Service personnel are breaking down doors and physically and psychologically harming the elderly woman, arguing that they are doing their job.
Israel Safaryan stated in an interview that the staff from the enforcement service showed a lack of humanity, resulting in 93-year-old Varya Safaryan losing consciousness and being transported to the hospital by ambulance.
It should be noted that today was a tense situation in Firdus.
