Cash Circulation Must Be Excluded in State Institutions, No Banknotes Should Be Visible, Says Pashinyan
During the government meeting today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the post-payment system for pensioners and beneficiaries is developing favorably in cashless trade.
“In July, a circulation of 524 million drams was recorded, in August – 846 million, in September – 1 billion 412 million, in October – 1 billion 838 million, in November – 2 billion 231 million, and in December – 2 billion 742 million,” he stated.
According to the Prime Minister, since July to date, 800 million drams have been returned to citizens. “It turns out that we have increased the pension by 3,000 drams for 67,000 people, plus 3,400 drams, that is, a total of 6,400 drams. This is a mechanism whose effectiveness we see today,” he noted.
Pashinyan declared that cash transactions must be eliminated in all state institutions. “There should be no state institution where the presence of cash is normal; no banknotes should be visible in any state institution,” the Prime Minister said.
