VIDEO. 'The government's stance is offensive': Nazaryan announces his departure from the committee

The member of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Gegham Nazaryan, announced at today's committee meeting that he is leaving the committee.

It should be noted that the committee meeting is discussing the draft law on 'Guarantees for Family Members of Soldiers Killed in Defense of the Homeland', proposed by the 'Armenia' faction. The main reporter of the draft, Gegham Nazaryan, stated that the government has rejected the draft, stating it would impose an additional burden on the budget.

"With the adoption of this draft, the families of the fallen will no longer have to worry about how or with whose help they will pay off the mortgage taken out before the war, how they will cover medical expenses, property tax, land tax, and utilities. We will help the wife of the hero so that they have no worries or fears regarding their children's education. In Iran, the children of martyrs study at the best universities," said Nazaryan.

He added that the government's stance is offensive and incomprehensible to him, which is why he decided to leave the committee.

It is worth mentioning that the proposed amendments to the law on 'Guarantees for Family Members of Soldiers Killed in Defense of the Homeland' suggest establishing new guarantees, particularly regarding the compensation for mortgage payments, healthcare, education, utilities, and other expenses.
