Aliyev Acknowledges: There's Nothing in the Trilateral Statement About the 'Zangezur Corridor'. What Does the Dictator Say?

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, addressed the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor' once again in an interview with local television channels today.

"The 'Zangezur Corridor' program is not only an economic and transportation project for us, but also a strategic one, and the implementation of this project is our natural right," he stated.

Referring to the observations that there is no mention of the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor' in the trilateral statement of November 9/10, 2020, Aliyev remarked, "That’s true, the term 'Zangezur Corridor' is not present there because I included the term 'Zangezur Corridor' in the geopolitical lexicon afterward, as they say. However, it is clearly stated that there must be a transport connection between the western regions of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and Armenia must ensure this. For us, this is a strategic project, not only for us but also for several neighboring countries and the broader geography."
