14 Journalists Injured During Protests in Brazil

During the protests in Brazil, the number of journalists attacked while covering the events has reached 14, according to РИА Новости. Earlier reports indicated that five journalists had been assaulted. Their technical equipment was stolen during these incidents.

Among the injured journalists are employees from major news outlets, including the American edition of the Washington Post, as well as Anadolu, Reuters, and France-Presse agencies.

It is noteworthy that supporters of former conservative president Jair Bolsonaro, who have been protesting the results of the presidential elections since the end of last year, stormed the Congress building, invaded the Planalto Palace, and the Supreme Court on Sunday. Only in the evening did the police manage to clear the government buildings from the protesters, with over 400 individuals detained.

On Monday, Brazilian security forces began operations to disperse the protest camp located near the headquarters of the Brazilian Armed Forces.
