PAPOYAN CALLS ON OPPOSITION MEMBERS TO ATTEND WORK FOR WHICH THEY ARE PAID

The chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Financial and Budgetary Issues, Gevorg Papoyan, urges opposition lawmakers to attend the sessions of the NA committees in 2023. Papoyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction, made this appeal during a meeting of the standing committee on financial and budgetary issues.

"I would call on the opposition lawmakers to come to the NA as the beginning of 2023 approaches. In my opinion, their speeches are worthless if they do not come when the conclusions of the Audit Chamber are discussed. I urge opposition members to be present for the work they are being paid for," said Papoyan.

According to him, the opposition should come to the NA and direct their pressing questions to the government so that the public is fully informed about the expenditures of certain resources. He noted that the opposition has tools they are reluctant to use, which concerns them.

Papoyan assured that the authorities demonstrate sufficient political will to discuss such issues.

It should be noted that on January 20, at 11:00 AM, a joint meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committees on Financial and Budgetary Issues and Health will be convened. The meeting will discuss the Audit Chamber's conclusions regarding outpatient medical services, as well as conclusions on medical care provided to socially disadvantaged and specific groups.

Papoyan added that their experts have also conducted research and identified some discrepancies regarding the conclusions of the Audit Chamber.
