First Shipment of Liquefied Natural Gas Arrives in Germany from the USA
The first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) has arrived in Germany from the USA. A specialized tanker from Maria Energy docked today at the Wilhelmshaven port in the North Sea, where the liquefied gas will be converted back into conventional natural gas to be supplied to German consumers. This terminal was recently opened last month by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
This collaboration also enables the West to reduce its demand for and dependence on Russian gas. Regular shipments of LNG from the USA to Germany are planned.
