Russia Supports Initiative for Lavrov and Cavusoglu Meeting: Zakharova

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu have not yet confirmed a meeting; however, Moscow views Turkey's proposals regarding engagement with Russia positively, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“I do not have any information about the details and cannot confirm any events. However, I can say that close dialogue with Turkey is maintained, and we positively assess the Turkish side's specific proposal for further communications,” Zakharova said during a press briefing.

Earlier, Turkey's Foreign Minister announced that he expects to hold talks with his Russian counterpart in the near future.
