Beware of False Heroism: Cavusoglu Threatens Greece Again
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has declared that Ankara will not permit Greece to expand its territorial waters in the Aegean Sea. This has been reported by Turkish media outlets.
“We warn Greece once again: do not fall into the embrace of false heroism by trusting those who may be behind you. Do not seek adventures, it will not end well for you,” said Cavusoglu.
According to him, “Turkey will continue to defend its interests in both the Aegean and Mediterranean seas” and will not allow Greece to extend its territorial waters even by one mile, let alone the 12 miles announced in Athens.
Cavusoglu reminded that Turkey's parliament made a clear decision back in 1995, stating that Ankara considers any expansion of borders by Greece in the Aegean Sea as a “casus belli” or a reason for war.
