After Modernizing Its Air Force, Greece Can Fear No External Threats, Says Prime Minister

Greece has strengthened its deterrent capabilities to the extent that it can feel no danger from any side by modernizing its air force. This statement was made on Thursday by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during a visit to the 115th Combat Wing of the Air Force at the Chania airbase on the island of Crete, as reported by TASS.

The Prime Minister checked the fourth-generation F-16 multirole fighter jets, which have been upgraded to Viper standard, and was briefed on the issues of the air wing, modernization of aircraft, and overall enhancement.

“The modernization of the air force is ongoing—a very important program that, combined with other investments we have made, I believe provides us with long-term confidence that we have strengthened our deterrence to the point where we will not feel threatened by anyone,” Mitsotakis stated, as quoted by the newspaper Kathimerini.

The Prime Minister specifically addressed the pilots and all personnel operating combat aircraft, promising them support.
