Minefields Cleared in David Bek Community
In the David Bek community, an additional 11,052 square meters of land contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance have been cleared and officially handed over for use.
The Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center reports that from December 7 to 20 of this year, specialists from the center, with the support of the UN Development Programme, conducted technical research and clearance operations for hazardous explosive materials in the David Bek settlement of the Syunik province's Kapan municipality.
During the operations, one 120mm artillery shell was discovered and destroyed. The 11,052 square meters of agricultural land in the David Bek settlement has been officially handed over to the Kapan municipality for usage.
