Regional Issues Cannot Be Resolved Without Iran
The spokesperson of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, has stated that Iran is a regionally influential country and that the issues present in the region cannot be resolved without the participation of the Islamic Republic. This comment was made in response to remarks by French President Emmanuel Macron regarding Iran's role in the region during the second Baghdad conference held in Amman.
The senior Iranian diplomat noted that the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel would not contribute to stability and peace in the region. Kanaani pointed out that this pertains to the trends of normalization observed in the relationships between the Arab and Islamic world and Israel.
In contrast, Kanaani emphasized that the Palestinian people are expecting the Islamic and Arab world to take effective steps to protect their rights. According to the spokesperson of Iran's foreign policy agency, the West has made a mistake by intervening in the developments inside Iran and betting on a 'losing horse' with incorrect calculations.
Finally, Tehran reiterated that the Islamic Republic is not participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war and denies the accusations presented by the Ukrainian authorities.
