A South Korean Attack Aircraft Crashes Due to Infiltration of Drones from North Korea

The crash of a South Korean light attack aircraft is linked to the infiltration of North Korean drones, reported the South Korean news outlet YTN, citing data from the country's Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"As a result of a corresponding response, an incident occurred. At approximately 11:40, the light attack aircraft from the Air Force's 8th Squadron crashed near the village of Muk'e (Hwansong County, Gangwon Province). Both pilots ejected safely, and there were no injuries," YTN reported.

According to their information, the military noted that the incident occurred while preparing for tactical support during the "infiltration of North Korean drones." Earlier reports indicated that drones were observed in South Korean airspace at 10:25, in various regions, including Seoul. According to the Yonhap News Agency, the drones were specifically spotted in the Gimpo area, on Ganghwa and Phaeju Islands, leading to the suspension of civilian flights at Incheon and Gimpo airports from 13:08 to 14:10.
