Lachin Corridor Must Open Without Preconditions, Says Khachatryan
During a press briefing, National Assembly member Armen Khachatryan from the "Civil Contract" faction assured reporters that active work is being done to open the Lachin Corridor.
"Work is being conducted in several directions, including on the performance of Russian peacekeepers' functions. Of course, there are demands from the Russian peacekeepers to solve the issues presented to them, but at the same time, the question arises whether they can solve those issues. I believe that the Russian peacekeepers are capable of addressing these issues; it's simply a matter of time, and everything is being done to prevent escalation. These processes require a certain period of time. I think they have certain challenges and are under pressure from Azerbaijan and several other countries. However, I am confident that the Russian peacekeepers must solve the issues before them. The Lachin Corridor must open and will open without preconditions," said Khachatryan.
In response to a question regarding a peace treaty, Khachatryan noted that given the tense situation and Azerbaijan's rhetoric, in his opinion, no document will be signed this year.
