Under What Conditions Will Biden Meet With Putin

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, is prepared to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin if Russia demonstrates a serious willingness to engage in negotiations, stated John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council.

"You heard the President himself say during his meeting with President Macron that if Putin shows serious willingness, he would definitely be ready to meet with him," said Kirby.

However, he also noted that the U.S. administration's leader would be willing to negotiate with his Russian counterpart only "if there is serious and genuine willingness from the Russian side, as well as after conducting consultations with Ukraine."
