EU to Conclude Observer Mission in Armenia on December 19

The EU observer mission will conclude its activities in Armenia on December 19. This was announced by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell at a press conference held in Brussels.

He stated that the issue was discussed on December 12 during the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council.

"We agreed to withdraw the mission and send a team to explore future possible cooperation with the EU," said Borrell, noting that the mission has demonstrated its "effectiveness."

The observer mission began its operations on October 20, following an agreement reached at a quadrilateral meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French President Emmanuel Macron, and European Council President Charles Michel.
