If Azerbaijan Responds Positively, a Peace Treaty May Be Signed by Year-End: Grigoryan
Armenia is utilizing all its resources to open the Lachin corridor, stated Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, during a press conference with journalists today.
"Armenia is using all its capabilities to ensure that we can employ all available tools to restore the Lachin corridor to its normal functioning. The issue has been discussed at the UN Security Council meeting, there have been targeted calls, and we must continue to work in this direction," Grigoryan noted.
He mentioned that at this moment, Armenia is only cooperating with the international community regarding the Lachin corridor.
Speaking about the peace treaty, the Secretary of the Security Council said it is possible to sign the agreement by the end of the year if Azerbaijan responds positively.
"It depends on Azerbaijan. Armenia continues to make efforts towards establishing peace in the region, and in this regard, Armenia has made its move," he emphasized, adding that the ongoing crisis further highlights Azerbaijan's non-constructive and destructive role in the region.
"When peace negotiations are ongoing, Azerbaijan blocks the Lachin corridor. The Azerbaijani government is responsible for this blockade, and the situation remains crisis-ridden," Grigoryan said.
