U.S. Calls on Azerbaijan and Other Responsible Parties to Swiftly Unblock Nagorno-Karabakh
The United States is deeply concerned about the obstacles to the movement in the Lachin corridor and the resulting humanitarian situation. During a discussion at the United Nations Security Council regarding the situation around the Lachin corridor, a U.S. representative made this statement.
“The obstruction of the Lachin corridor is hindering the peace process, undermining international confidence in this process, and could lead to potentially severe humanitarian consequences. We call on the Azerbaijani government and other parties responsible for the security of the corridor to unblock Nagorno-Karabakh as quickly as possible,” said the U.S. representative.
According to the representative, the U.S. urges all parties to immediately cease actions that disrupt the peace process and fulfill their obligations under international humanitarian law. “The accumulated issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan must be resolved through peaceful negotiations. Negotiations are the only way to achieve lasting peace,” emphasized the U.S. representative.
