The People of Artsakh Face a Humanitarian Catastrophe: Artsakh Foreign Ministry
The Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh welcomes the discussion of the blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan at the extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council on December 20. The fact that such a key body of an influential international organization has convened an extraordinary session on this issue already demonstrates the serious concern of the international community regarding the current situation, as well as Azerbaijan's aggressive political stance.
The critical position of the international community towards the political actions of that country was expressed in the speeches of the representatives of the UN Security Council member states.
The people of Artsakh are facing a humanitarian catastrophe, which cannot and should not be ignored. We hope that the international community will also take concrete steps towards the unblocking of Artsakh.
The stabilization of the situation in the region and the creation of prerequisites for lasting peace can only be achieved through the imposition of appropriate sanctions against Azerbaijan.
