Patients with Serious Health Issues, Including 13 Children, Urgently Need Transfer to Armenia
For the past 10 days, Artsakh has been under a complete blockade. On the morning of December 12, the Azerbaijani side closed the Lachin Corridor under the pretext of environmental concerns; this corridor is the only route connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world.
The Information Headquarters of Artsakh reports that, due to Azerbaijani actions, the 120,000 residents of Artsakh, including 30,000 children, find themselves in a humanitarian crisis. 1,100 citizens, including 270 minors, are unable to return home due to the blockade of the road.
Over two dozen patients with serious health issues currently in the intensive care units of Artsakh's medical facilities, including 13 children, urgently require transfer to Armenia. Meanwhile, 350 patients are unable to receive treatment in Armenia. All planned surgeries have been temporarily halted in Artsakh. Daily shipments of 400 tons of food and medicine from Armenia to Artsakh are currently impossible. The complete transport blockade threatens to lead to shortages of food, medicine, and fuel.
