Navalny Reveals How Wagner Group Founder Went to Recruit Prisoners

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has revealed that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner Group, visited the prison where he is held and recruited prisoners. According to Navalny, he learned about Prigozhin's arrival from another inmate. This information was shared on the opposition leader's Telegram channel.

“He arrived by helicopter, and all the prisoners were gathered in the yard along with the guards. Prigozhin is short and bald. He said, 'I have served 10 years myself, and I urge you to become my fighters. In six months, I will grant amnesty to everyone; you have 5 minutes to think about it,'” Navalny recounted the inmate's words.

He added that following Prigozhin's speech, about 80-90 inmates from IK-6 went to register for military operations, and afterwards, “there was a second wave of recruitment.”
